Patient Friendly OPD Award by CMC Vellore for the Year 2012

The Award Ceremony for the Most Patient Friendly Wards, OPDs and MROs for 2012 was held on August 30, 2013 in Norman Auditorium. Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Chief Guest, Dr. George John, Professor and Head of the Critical Care Unit, the Medical Superintendent, Dr. C.E. Eapen, the Nursing Superintendent, Dr. Jayarani Premkumar, and the General Superintendent, Dr. R. Selvakumar. The programme commenced with a prayer by Rev. Robin Phipon Lepcha, followed by a special song by the MRD Team. Mr. Rabindranath provided an insight into the feedback collection methodology, and Ms. Lallu Joseph spoke on the criteria followed in the selection of the winners.

The Award Ceremony for the Most Patient Friendly Wards, OPDs and MROs for the year 2014 was held on October 28, 2015 in Wheeler Hall. Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Director, Dr. Sunil Chandy, the Medical Superintendent, Dr. C.E. Eapen, the Nursing Superintendent, Dr. Premila Lee, the Associate General Superintendent, Mr. Sukumar Solomon, and the Additional Deputy Dean, Ms. Bala Seetharaman. The programme commenced with a prayer by Rev. Mani Bhushan Das, and Dr. Reju Joseph Thomas, Deputy Director (Quality), welcomed the gathering. Mr. Rabindranath, Audit Facilitation Officer, provided an insight into the feedback collection methodology and the criteria followed for the selection of the winners.

Patient Friendly OPD Award by CMC Vellore for the Year 2016

The award ceremony for the best patient friendly wards, OPDs and MROs of both private and general category during the years 2015 and 2016, based on OP and IP feedback, was held on 19th September 2017 by the Quality Management Cell, Directorate. Dr. Sunil Chandy, our former Director, was the chief guest and graced the occasion. The ceremony started with a prayer by Mr. Raja, Chaplain. Dr. Santosh Varughese, Deputy Director (HR & Quality), welcomed the gathering.

The dignitaries present were former Director Dr. Sunil Chandy, Director Dr. J.V. Peter, Medical Superintendent Dr. Prasad Mathews, Deputy Nursing Superintendent Mrs. Florence Sekaran, Deputy Director (HR & Quality) Dr. Santosh Varughese, and Chaplain Mr. Raja.

The report and the method of selection were presented by Mr. Rabindranath, Audit Facilitation Officer. OP feedback is collected in five languages using a five-point rating scale, and IP feedback in six languages using a ten-point rating scale, by a team of dedicated feedback staff and management interns in OP and with the help of charge nurses and ward clerks in IP. Data is collated at the completion of the year, with various parameters considered during the process using a scoring system, along with a weightage given for patient load. Data regarding MROs is collated separately based on the OP feedback parameters. The winners were announced by Dr. Lallu Joseph, Quality Manager, and the prizes and certificates were distributed by the dignitaries.
