Dr Felix Jebasingh K, Is working in Endocrinology as a professor at the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the Christian Medical College, Vellore and CMC Vellore Chittoor Campus, India.
Dr Felix Jebasingh K is not just a practitioner but a dedicated researcher. He manages the high-risk Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) clinic at the CMC Vellore Town Campus and is actively involved in research activities associated with GDM mothers. He is committed to basic science studies on body composition and dynamic studies related to GDM mothers and patients with lean phenotype diabetes.

Dr Felix Jebasingh K spearheads a weekly integrated diabetic foot clinic that incorporates general surgery, vascular surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physiotherapy, plastic surgery, prosthetics and orthotics, and Orthopaedics. His research interest in finding the pathogenesis of diabetic foot, especially Charcot's foot, and his innovative offloading manoeuvre for diabetes-related plantar foot ulcers (to be patented) demonstrate his leadership. He also provided ideas and clinical input in the development of software for measuring the size of diabetic foot ulcers during the clinical validation stage.
He pioneered the Endocrinology facility at the CMC Vellore, Chittoor Campus in Andhra Pradesh, and started the Integrated Diabetic Foot Clinic, showcasing his leadership since January 2017.
Dr Felix Jebasingh K's research contributions are evident in his 95 publications in national and international journals, 35 chapters in various Endocrine and Diabetes Books, and his role as an editor of the Endocrine Atlas (two editions) and Diabetic Foot: A Comprehensive Guide for Clinicians, 1st edition. His involvement in 30 multinational clinical trials, as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator, further demonstrates his commitment to advancing medical knowledge.

He obtained funding from the Indian Council of Medical Research and the NHMRC Australia. He developed a unique network with Dr H. Gordon Roberts Hospital in Shillong, Meghalaya, a northeastern state (approximately 3,000 km from Vellore). He initiated an epidemiological survey on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), Including Diabetes, Hypertension, and obesity, as well as the implementation of preventive strategies for NCDs among high-risk individuals. He also received a grant worth 1.5 million Australian Dollars from NHMRC to conduct a follow-up study of this cohort from Shillong in 2023. He is involved in epidemiological research with the 50-year-old Vellore Birth Cohort (VBC), one of the oldest cohorts of Tamil-speaking individuals of Dravidian origin and has secured international funding. He also initiated the Global Diabetic Foot Program in June 2023, a project for mission hospitals across India, training doctors, nurses, and orthotic technicians in India and Sri Lanka. To date, more than 113 hospitals across India and Sri Lanka have been trained through this program. He also received a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation to implement the project. He was the organising secretary of the Type 5 Diabetes Consensus and Vellore Endocrinology International Conference at CMC Vellore in January 2025. He received the gold medal for the Endocrinology Super Specialty exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in August 2016. He also acquired a postgraduate diploma (PGDMLE) in Medical Law and Ethics. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Hospital and Health System Management. He has been pursuing a PhD at the University of Melbourne, Australia, since November 2023.
