  • Prof. Ashley Grossman

    Ashley Grossman initially graduated with a BA in Psychology and Social Anthropology from the University of London, then entered University College Hospital Medical School in London and took the University Gold Medal in 1975. He also obtained a BSc in Neuroscience.He joined the Department of Endocrinology at St. Bartholomew's Hospital where he spent most of his career, eventually as Professor of Neuroendocrinology,but has recently moved to become Professor ofEndocrinology at the University of Oxford in the Oxford Centre for Diabetes,Endocrinology and Metabolism.In2000 he was appointed a Fellow ofthe Academy of Medical Sciences. In 2011he was made a Fellow of Green­ Templeton College at the University of Oxford. He has published more than 700 research papers and reviews. He is immediate Past-President of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA), Chairman of the UKI Neuroendocrine Tumour Society (UKINETS), Chairman of the European Neuroendocrine Society (ENETS) Advisory Board, and President for the Society of Endocrinology. He is past editor of the journal Clinical Endocrinology, on the editorial board of the major textbook De Groot and Jameson's Endocrinology,is Vice­ Chairman of the major on-line textbook Endotext.org,and serves on the editorialboards of many journals.
